Community and Economic Development Planner
Kentucky River Area Development District (KRADD)
The Kentucky River Area Development District, an eight-county planning and development agency, is accepting applications for the position of Community and Economic Development Planner.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Community & Economic Development, this position works closely with city and county governments and local communities throughout the district.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting with planning efforts and project development
- Identifying potential local, state, and federal funding sources
- Developing, submitting, and administering grant and loan applications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or a closely related field required
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or a related field preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants should have:
- Working knowledge of computers and software applications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of reporting and record-keeping requirements
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, the public, and elected officials
Additional requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass a competency test and criminal records check prior to interview
- Must pass a drug screen as a condition of employment

Salary will be based on education and experience.
