Community and Economic Development Planner

Kentucky River Area Development District (KRADD)

The Kentucky River Area Development District, an eight-county planning and development agency, is accepting applications for the position of Community and Economic Development Planner.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Community & Economic Development, this position works closely with city and county governments and local communities throughout the district.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with planning efforts and project development
  • Identifying potential local, state, and federal funding sources
  • Developing, submitting, and administering grant and loan applications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or a closely related field required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or a related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applicants should have:

  • Working knowledge of computers and software applications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of reporting and record-keeping requirements
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, the public, and elected officials

Additional requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a competency test and criminal records check prior to interview
  • Must pass a drug screen as a condition of employment

Salary will be based on education and experience.
