Position Available: Community Development Planner

The Kentucky River Area Development District, an eight-county planning and development agency, is accepting applications for the position of Community Development Planner.

Summary of duties includes (but is not limited to):

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Community & Economic Development, works closely with city and county governments and local communities within the District to assist with planning efforts and project development. Acquires information about potential local, state and federal funding sources and is responsible for the development, submittal, and administration of any resulting loan/grant application.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or Planning is preferred. Associate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning or closely related field required. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, public, and elected officials. Must be able to work under pressure and against frequent deadlines with little or no supervision.

Applicants must have good working knowledge of computers and software applications. Possesses good written and oral communication skills; knowledge of reporting and vital record keeping requirements; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, public, and elected officials. Must have valid driver’s license.

A criminal record check and skills assessment will be required before interviewing with the Personnel Committee of the KRADD.
